Bottled Water

Although associated with healthy water, bottled water is not guaranteed to be any healthier than tap water, and costs so much more! We are being fooled into thinking we are drinking fresh “spring” water or high quality alkaline water. When, in reality, we have been drinking toxic, acidic, water lacking the vital nutrients our bodies need to thrive.

The average alkaline bottled water brands make the water alkaline by masking the unregulated water with synthetic minerals to make it appear alkaline. Take a look at the second ingredient in your high pH Essentia water bottle.. baking soda, which can actually cause your body harm if too much is consumed.

The toxins in plastic bottles themselves, including phthalates, BPA, BPS, & PVC, cause cancer and are bad for the environment.

Sadly, not only are you paying for tap water in a plastic bottle (that comes wrapped in more plastic) but there is are likely to be swallowing micro-plastics.

Reverse Osmosis

Reverse Osmosis is a filtering process which may be effective in areas that do not receive municipally treated water and is commonly used in bottled water facilities. The problem with this process is that Reverse osmosis removes healthy, naturally occurring water minerals in addition to unhealthy minerals.

RO water is also dead water, meaning it is lacking vital properties that are necessary for our bodies to thrive.

These minerals not only provide good taste, they also serve a vital function in the body's system. Your body uses minerals for many different jobs, including keeping your bones, muscles, heart, and brain working properly.

Because reverse osmosis water doesn't have enough minerals, when it is consumed, it also leaches minerals from the body causing , Inflammation, potential osteoporosis, and a host of other unhealthy side affects.

Tap Water.

Tap water is a healthier option than soft drinks. But according to the Environmental Working Group, there have been 315 pollutants found in America's tap water since 2004, and over half of these pollutants are completely unregulated and can legally exist in any amount. At the current levels of contamination, the public is starting to question the quality of tap water and wonders if it is safe enough to drink. Based on these facts, it's no wonder that the demand for Ionized Water is constantly increasing

Environmental Impact

With an estimated 50 billion single-use plastic bottles sold every year in the US alone, only 9% are recycled.

8,000,000 tons of plastic is dumped into the ocean every year. That is equivalent to 5 grocery bags per every foot of coastline around the globe.

The bottled water industry is highly unregulated and the water has been proven to contain toxins such as BPA that is linked to cancer and other health issues.

Our focus is to help solve the global issue of toxic drinking water and destruction of our eco-system from single-use plastic water bottles.

Let’s Talk Microplastics

A four-year study by the Natural Resources Defense Council shows that 1/3 of the bottled water tested contained levels of contamination which exceeded allowable limits. Not to mention the toxins in the plastics themselves, including phthalates, BPA, BPS, & PVC.

An article published by Time in March of 2018, reports a study “carried out on more than 250 water bottles sourced from 11 brands in nine different countries revealed that microplastic contamination was nearly universal, found in more than 90% of the samples”.

Does your water make cents?

Most people buy bottled water for the convenience and they also believe that it is healthier than tap water. But most people have never crunched the numbers to find out how much money they are actually spending on their “Healthy Bottled Water” on an annual basis.

The numbers above are based on an average family of four that are hydrating with these popular bottled waters. As you can see, it doesn’t make any financial sense to buy bottled water! Not only does it not make financial sense, when you consider that all of these bottled waters are void of antioxidants and they are loaded with carcinogens leached from the plastic bottles, it doesn’t make biological sense either!

Lastly, we cannot keep dumping 40 million plastic bottles each year into our oceans and landfills! “Enough is enough!” Let’s drink water that is friendly to our bodies, our wallets, and our precious environment!
